Position : Junior Data Scientist
RESPONSIBILITIES:
=> To work collaboratively with DBAs, data scientists, and analysts to insure that the data needs of EA are being met.
=> Help script, maintain, and create automated processes for pulling and reporting data
=> Drive improvement in our methodologies, systems and processes
=> Be actively engaged in assigned products and develop a deep understanding of game mechanics including gameplay and economy
=> Have a deep understanding of large data, our data structures, and how to manipulate our data in an efficient manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
=> Graduating students encouraged to apply
=> Large data sets should excite this person
=> Strong analytical skills and facility with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, formatting)
=> SQL knowledge a must
=> Experience with BI and statistical software (Microstrategy, Tableau, R, etc.) and Hadoop a plus
=> C++, Java, HTML 5, HiveQL knowledge a plus
=> Passion for gaming, understanding of free-to-play game mechanics in social and mobile games
=> A desire to learn new methods in data mining/manipulation
=> Background in statistics, software engineering, data mining, database administration, or other quantitative disciplines is highly valued.
